Project life cycle. Sequence of actions when working on a project
The project life cycle may consist of the following steps and actions.
The priority list of actions:
- Creating a project, filling out a passport
- Customer selection
- Election of the leader
- Indication of the budget
- Creating a breakdown of work (WBS), creating basic and actual plans, creating possible connections between works
- Sets the task mode that suits you: automatic or manual.
- Creating additional user data tasks
- Formation of the resource base
- Formation of a database of materials, or import of its own list from an MS Excel file (according to a given template)
- Assignment of resources and materials to tasks
- Configuring the display of columns in the list of tasks
- Configuring the display of informative elements on Gantt chart (task name, overdue time, show exits, show markers)
- Setting project stages
- Formation of the project team
- Delegation of rights to those responsible for work
- Appointment to the tasks of contractors
- Planning the schedule of payments to contractors.
After completing the priority list of actions on the project, it is necessary to periodically:
- update the current development and work schedule
- correct possible changes in the costs of resources and materials
- predict execution (Prognosirovanie function)
- form and analyze reports
- form the acts of completed work to receive payments for work
- analyze the current mastery (mastery analysis report)
- control ответственных за работы
- maintain communication with the customer, contractors responsible for the work
At the end of the project implementation and the actions described above, you will receive a real plan-schedule of project implementation, reports, a schedule of mutual settlements, acts of completed works.
You will have the opportunity to compare the actual plan with the basic plan: the duration of the project, the amount of resources and materials involved.
After all, the plan does not always coincide with the actual implementation of the project. And the comparison gives an opportunity to understand at what point something in the project went wrong, and it is possible to take measures to correct the situation in the future in subsequent projects by analyzing the history.
